Moving Towards Organic Farming Under Radhanath Swami's, at Ramanwadi

Promotion of organic farming started with creating awareness amongst the farmers about the positive effects of organic farming and the negative effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on land and crops. This was accomplished through regular training programs. The task was made simpler because many villagers themselves had realized the damage to their farmland due to chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Now, as an outcome, more than 15 farmers have started their shift by utilizing cow dung, urine slurry, vermi-compost and doing “bija samskara.”

To help more and more farmers shift to organic farming, Venu Madhuri has

-- Distributed 35 Vermi-composting units
-- Set up various demonstration plots
-- Distributed 1200+ horticulture plants amongst 55 families
-- Provided pump for herbal/cow urine spray
-- Distributed sapling
