Radhanath Swami drives Performance, Effort and Quality

Based on an interview with the Management of Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Share Your Care Inc., Mumbai, India --

Performance Report 2010 - 2011
Under the leadership of Radhanath Swami, the year 2010-11 witnessed a higher growth in the number of patients served and has been able to address the growing demand for quality medical care, from the middle class & lower income group.
-- Pathology investigations up by 18%
-- Total OPD patients up by 7%
-- Radiology investigations (X-Ray & USG) up by 12%
-- IPD Admissions up by 4%
Due to the increased cost of input, the hospital revised the charges. However the economy class charges have been increased only marginally.

Concession Report 2010 - 2011
-- At 55% more than the previous year, 2010-11 saw concessions and free treatment worth Rs. 99.52 lakhs being disbursed as compared to Rs. 64.39 lakhs in the previous year.
-- Community health initiatives, highly emphasized by Radhanath Swami, brought in a tremendous response, with outreach camps extending door-step services to those unable to access medical care and treatment.
-- In total, community patients received Rs. 40.71 lakhs worth of free treatment. Additionally, free treatment worth about Rs. 50 lakhs was made available at the Barsana & Pandharpur Camps.

Quality Initiatives, Training and Development
-- The hospital has made considerable progress towards NABH accreditation.
-- Personality Development was arranged for the front desk employees.
-- ICU staff were trained on technical skills by Glaxo’s Education Cell.
-- Several training sessions by Radhanath Swami and others were conducted on topics such as Team building, Communication, Quality Work Life, Quality Medical Care, Supervisory Skills etc., which was majorly focused on enhancing the service to patients.

the spiritual care department here is one of its kind.
many patients don't have any visitors and it is a tough time for these patients to handle this mental stress. They fell very lonely. This is where spiritual care dept helps them. they discuss with patients and make them feel home. Also, Lord Jagannath comes to meet them everyday. This is a great re-assurance given personally by Lord.
