Formula for Spiritual Care from Radhanath Swami — a Practical Reality

Based on an interview with Dr. Ajay Sankhe, Director, Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mumbai --

On 21st & 22nd Dec 2010, Department of Spiritual Care was invited by K. E. M. Hospital & G. S. Medical College for a Symposium on “Scientific Perspectives in Spiritual Health for Meaningful Living.”

Presentations were given by many spiritual organizations and religions: Sahaj Marg, Prajapita Brahmakumaris, The Tathagat way, Jainism, Satya Sai Institute, Christianity, Art of living, Zorastrian, Hinduism, RamKrishna Mission etc.

The presentation of Dr. Ajay Sankhe representing ISKCON was appreciated with great applause. While others defined and described spirituality, Dr. Sankhe gave a very clear picture of spirituality as taught by Radhanath Swami and also provided a method to implement it in medical care.

He presented 68 Slides de dr-ajaysankhe picting the spiritual care already being provided at Bhaktivedanta Hospital. After the presentation, the impressed organizers (that included the HOD of the P. S. M. Department, K. E. M. Hospital) expressed their desire to have a separate training program by Bhaktivedanta Hospital for their own staff.
